Lois Duncan Biography: Born on April 28, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lois Duncan is the author of railroad cardinal books, which vary from childrens picture books to adult novels. She was raised in Sarasota, Florida, with her littleer brother, by her parents, Joseph and Lois Steinmetz. Her parents, at the time, were known internationally as common photographers for times. In 1962, Duncan attended Duke University but dropped out a division subsequently because she found this education difficult compared to her childishness writing.
